Happy Chinese New Year – February 10th

The Snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs. It is the enigmatic, intuitive, introspective and refined Animal Sign.

Explore Brussels' Comic Art on the footsteps of Tintin

tintin-small.jpg Who hasn't heard of Belgian cartoonist Herge's hero Tintin? Considered the father of European comics, his work is translated in 60 languages and 200 million copies sold worldwide. Brussels is THE world capital of comic murals, and @dmire takes you on a truly memorable trail which reveal the incredible depth and variety of Belgian comic art.

@dmire's walking tours are a unique historical and cultural journey into Brussels comic art. Guided by a comic art expert, you'll find out the background stories behind some of Belgium's biggest comic artists, and discover comic art as you've never seen before. Our tour starts at the Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Arts and ends at the very unique Comics Café, featuring some classic Belgian speciality tasting along the way.

2013 Canal Festival in Bruges

bruges-web.jpg oin us in Bruges this August for an exciting and spectacular Canal Festival in Bruges. It promises to be a night to remember with more than 300 music, dance and multimedia performances
Since its first edition in 1963, the Canal Festival now takes place every two or three years. The last edition welcomed an astonishing 35.000 visitors. As 2013 celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Festival, a truly special edition is expected!

Pencil the dates from now on, (15, 17, 18, 23 & 24 August 2013) to combine this experience with a meeting or incentive trip to Bruges fully organized by @dmire. We are never short of workshop ideas in the UNESCO World Heritage town, from a chocolate teambuilding to a canal boat trail to tailored concepts fitting your corporate expectations.

Bokrijk open air museum

bokrijk-kids.jpg Located in Limburg, the open air museum of Bokrijk is a great day out for the whole family. Set in a wonderful natural environment, the museum showcases life from the 17th to 20th century. The authentic heritage buildings house experiences where visitors are transported in the past, and interact with traditions such as pottery making. A large number of traditional tools and utensils are exhibited and the area offers lovely green surroundings to wander around. The open air museum is open from the end of March through September.

A new part of the museum is due to open in March tackling the 1960's and its revolutionary movements. For meetings and events,The Old Town is a truly special area to host up to 10,000 participants, among a movie like setting. Ideal for team building activities and interaction using traditional tools, play games from the past centuries or make pottery! @dmire takes you back in time to discover this period and enjoy a fantastic, fun and educational corporate or family day out!

Explore World War I history in Flanders Fields

ieper.jpg The charming Flemish city of Ieper bears a long history dating back to medieval times, but is mostly famous for its key role in the Great War as a strategic defense line with numerous bloody battles to resist German invasion. Today, visitors explore the many reminders of its turbulent past , the"Ieper Salient", the trenches, the 150 cemeteries, the emotional daily ceremony at Menin Gate for 55.000 missing soldiers and the many museums.

As 2014 sees the 100th anniversary of the Great war, @dmire offers packages to experience first-hand history in Flanders fields. Experience 12th century Flanders

map-flanders.gif Flanders, French Flandres or Flemish Vlaanderen is the same name for the medieval principality in the southwest of the Low Countries, which now includes the French département of the Nord, the Belgian provinces of East Flanders and West Flanders, and the Dutch province of Zeeland.

The origins of Flanders are traced back to Bruges and the 9th century when Flemish Counts succeeded in erecting a quasi-independent state between the border of the French and German Kingdoms.
