Top Russian MICE Buyers familiarization trip to Belgium


A consortium of 11 Russian representatives from major MICE buyers namely - Morinvest, IPM Group, Vision international, DiHouse, Luding, Oldi, Samsung, Calzedonia, Suzuki, DKS, Gazprom, UTS - were invited to discover Brussels and Flanders in this initiative to promote our MICE facilities and unique Tourism Offer.

Recent figures show an increase of Russian visitors by 23% in the 5 first months of 2012 and a growing interest for the destination. "We are delighted to organize a familiarization trip for this market, we have an office in Russia and we believe it is one of the best ways to communicate with MICE decision makers. It gives them first-hand experience of a destination and its attractions for business travelersā€˜' says Brigitte Boone, founder of Admire.
Our MICE buyers' adventure to Belgium started with a comfortable journey sponsored by Brussels Airlines, known for offering the highest standards of personalized in-flight and customer service.
On arrival, the group soon discovered the charms of Antwerp, staying at the Radisson Blu Astrid, enjoying beer tasting and a truly Belgian fries workshop. The delegates were like children let loose in a candy store, fries in Belgium is a very serious topic but gaining expertise and skills to make them is fun, participative, exciting and....culturally enriching!
Following a fashion hunt teambuilding in Antwerp was a feast of fine food at the Duke of Antwerp restaurant. The next day was dedicated to a visit of Gent, its highlights and a boat ride offering stunning views of the river and architecture. Everyone was mixing and excited about finding out more about the excellent business opportunities showcased. Gent and Bruges have all the facilities for the efficient staging of any kind of event.
And they also have the beauty, the history, culture and the sense of fun that can add zest to any leisure program.On their last day, the delegation enjoyed discovering Brussels, and besides the highlights of the coach tour such as Atomium, the Grand Place, pre-touring, teambuilding and business sessions were also included in the itinerary.
The Russian market continues to be a key strategic priority for driving the ongoing growth and success of Belgium's tourism Industry.
